"Dr. Kleinrock has also been involved as founder, board member and chairman of a wide variety of organizations, all focused on his key areas of research including packet switching and nomadic computing. Nomadic computing is the concept of being able to use networks anytime, anywhere. Visionary in its concept, the convergence of cellular phones and Internet access is making this a reality today.
Dr. Kleinrock is Chairman and Founder of Nomadix, an organization devoted to developing software and hardware solutions for nomadic computing, and founded this company in 1995. He is still active there today in addition to teaching at UCLA. "
