Abstract Colorado State's Division of Mental Health is a state health agency that provides services for Colorado residents with mental illnesses. The agency provides services for residents of all ages, through contracts with six specialty clinics and 17 private, non-profit local mental health centers. The paper analyzes and discusses the services provided by the agency. It looks at issues such as funding and government assistance and responsibility. The paper includes a table.
From the Paper "Colorado's public mental health system offers care and treatment to persons with serious mental illnesses who are either Medicaid-eligible, or are "working poor" without health insurance or with limited health insurance (State of Colorado, 2005). The Division of Mental Health prioritizes eligibility for state-supported mental health services due to the need to enhance the quality and range of services to those who are suffering the most and also the need to fairly allocate the state's limited resources."
