"In constructing a LAN that has seven PCs, a file server that acts as a print server, network cabling including a router for making it possible for each PC to be connected to the LAN and to the Internet through an Internet Service Provider-supplied connection, and the Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and web page editing and production applications, the following estimate is derived. There are two options for networking, one with a wired approach that guarantees 100Mbps of performance and another, more mobile approach through wireless connections to the network. As the price of laptops, especially IBM ThinkPads, has come down drastically, it is highly recommended that this type of PC be used."
