From the Paper:
"Globalization has produced scores of critics and naysayers, but Thomas Friedman isn't one of them. His latest work, The World is Flat, now in its second revision, is a heady and intoxicating celebration of the way new technologies and new business models are transforming how human beings interact with one-another. The book is a breath-taking tour de force, in which Friedman takes the reader on a whirlwind globetrotting spree, pointing out the innumerable ramifications of globalization's impact. Unlike most commentators, Friedman is not afraid of globalization in the least. Far from it. In fact, Friedman seems to think that globalization will ultimately impact humanity for the better, that it will prove to be every bit as important as "Gutenberg's invention of the printing press, the rise of the nation-state, or the Industrial Revolution" (Friedman 49). If globalization is a new religion, then Friedman is clearly its messiah."
