"Lord Jim is based around Jim, a young sailor who wants nothing more than to live out the grand adventures that he imagines. On one of his voyages as first mate on the Patna, the vessel collides with something in the water. Thinking that the ship is doomed, Jim and three other officers leave in a small boat. They are rescued and brought back to the mainland and learn that the ship, and it's cargo of pilgrims, survived the ordeal. The captain and other officers leave as soon as they find out, leaving Jim to answer to the authorities. He is found guilty and stripped of his sailing certificate."
