The paper examines Benjamin Ginsberg and Martin Shefter's "Politics By Other Means," a well-documented analysis of contemporary American politics. By making politics by other means, politicians lose voter's support and transform American politics in a very negative way. Politics of institutional combat "undermines the governing capacities of the nation's institutions, diminishing the ability of America's government to manage domestic and foreign affairs, and contributing to the erosion of the nation's international political and economic standing."(Ginsberg and Shefter, 1990)."
