At the core of the ethical exploration suggested by the book, however, is Corey, Corey and Callanan's (2007) contention that all counselors must ultimately make determinations best on what solution will benefit the client over the long term (p. 1). According to Corey, Corey and Callanan (2007), taking this approach to ethics provides the most effective decisions, as well as answers that are based upon the counselor's purpose for functioning - the client's needs (p. 1)."
