This paper discusses how most people would agree that there is a significant relationship between human nature and the environment in which that human is formed. Dionne Brand's novel 'What We All Long For' is extremely interesting in this regard. In this novel, five of the characters are siblings in the same family but there are huge differences between these five people. This essay compares the characters of these five people, and highlight their differences. It then analyzes how the novel shows us how different life experiences have shaped the siblings.
