The paper looks at the greatest strength and main weakness of the article. The paper concludes that the article is heavily biased, but does demonstrate how vital shared leadership is.
From the Paper:
"The thesis of this article is that partnerships must be implemented for effective nursing, and staff nurses have to share in the leadership role. Staff nurses and the unit manager have to collaborate to ensure continuing education, professional development, attraction and recruitment of nurses, and building strong relationships with patients and other members of the health care team. Partnerships involve consolidation of teams and result in a single nursing management team and one level of care. The future of nursing is created when nursing management partners with staff nurses (Hepner & Hopkins, 2000)."
