This is a review of a research article published by Bigelow, Maclean, and Proctor in 2004. The researchers report on a study they conducted into the role of joint attention episodes in the development of infants' play with objects. This research builds on previous research in the role of joint attention episodes in infant learning, and adds some useful observations to the knowledge we already have about this subject. The researchers note that joint attention episodes have been found to accelerate language development.
