She begins her narrative by explaining that over the last 35 years; tremendous strides have been made in identifying and increasing the level of awareness over abusive relationships within the elderly. Domestic abuse is a very well-recognized and intense field of study, child abuse and domestic violence are issues that constantly receive national attention but elder abuse continues to be submerged as a null issue."
