It is a fact that money and belongings illustrate a sense of power over one's own life. Without these aspects one does not have a certainty that you will be in control of your own life. The fact that the subject stole particular items gives structure to the aspect of autonomy. The subject wanted control over his life and so he decided to commit the crime for personal gain."
