The paper examines how, by doing this analysis, a board of eight certified nurse anesthetists found that of the cases they studied thirty-eight percent of CRNA-related claims involved a respiratory incident as the primary cause of the negative patient outcome. The paper discusses how, by attaining this information, the research assists in ensuring that hospitals, clinics and surgical centers are made safer.
