Paper Summary:
This paper discusses why the United States Supreme Court is in fact violating the theory of secularism rather than following it. It also goes over constitutional points such as the freedom of speech and freedom of religion.
From the Paper:
"In 1963, the Supreme Court outlawed all school prayer in the case of Murray vs. Curlett. This law did not prohibit the promotion of one religion, but instead took away the right to practice any religion in school. This law has existed for 24 years and more issues concerning religion are arising. Through the years, the United States has encouraged the idea of separation of church and state. Religion in school became a debate between separation of church and state and freedom of religion and speech. Practicing religion without promoting it or taking time out of the learning development of children should be allowed. "
