The dilemma of crossing the line in order to effect and justify the saving of thousands of human lives in exchange for what some perceive as the sacrifice of thousands of unborn human lives has slowed this field of research to a slow crawl (Gilbert 100-101). Background Information: Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have the potential to develop and proliferate into more specialized cells such as neurons or skin cells."
