A review of the changing nature or privacy in the United States.
1,174 words (approx. 4.7 pages) | 11 sources | MLA | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses the issues of privacy in the United States in light of terrorism and new age technology. It begins by defining privacy and how it is granted to people. The paper then discusses whether there is a need for government intervention in ensuring an individual's privacy. Finally, the paper discusses how privacy may change over the years and whether it will be different in ten years time from how it is now.

From the Paper:

"Privacy is not an undisclosed issue, but it might end up an overlooked one. There are different levels of privacy for everyone, but the meaning is still universal. With the new age of terrorism and technology, Americans are giving up much more of their personal lives and privacy for surveillance and the ability to look after our nation, but who is looking out for Americans and their freedom? One would think that privacy is a right granted to them by the constitution, but is it? Also what must be done to protect the privacy of Americans? If nothing happens to change the way privacy is being viewed now, then what will come of it in the future? Will it even exist? Many questions are posed on the controversial issue of privacy and many questions also remain left unanswered."

I am a junior at UT Austin in the fine arts department and also getting a certificate in business classes. I will most likely double major next year once I figure out the best route and second major path. I am currently predesign right now and will be applying for Design in the fall. Go horns!
