"Legalization of Drugs in CaliforniaFor over 75 years the U.S. government has waged a war on drugs. California has been a willing participant in the war and has continued to make drug use illegal. The result is misinformation, a growing supply of illegal substances and increasing demand for drugs. The drug war makes the same mistake that prohibition did. It assumes that we can try to stamp out evil. However, what we've done is make it more profitable. It is time we face the realty of the uselessness of this so called war.
The official policy has failed. The prohibition against narcotics has created huge profits for drug dealers, overcrowded jails, a distorted foreign policy and urban areas terrorized by bloodthirsty gangs.. Why not end the crime and profits by making ..."
