Iraq: An Unjustified War

This paper analyzes the U.S. war against Iraq and argues that it was an unjust war. The paper makes the point that for a war to be just it must be necessary, it must be for a good cause, it must have a proportional response, it must have a reasonable chance of success and it must be undertaken as a last resort. By this test, the paper argues, the US war against Iraq is found to be unjustified, particularly because it was not carried out as a last resort.
