Death Penalty

Death Penalty
An opinion paper against the death penalty.
1,425 words (approx. 5.7 pages) | 6 sources | MLA | 2005

Paper Summary:

This paper argues that the reasons that the death penalty should not be instituted is because the person who committed such a horrible crime should rather be given life sentence without parole so that he/she has a terrible life ahead, with nothing to look forward to.

From the Paper:

"The death penalty, also known as capital punishment, is punishment by death for committing a crime. Since the early 1800's most people that have been sentenced to execution have resulted from convictions for murder. The death penalty has also been used for serious crimes such as: armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, and treason. There is a big controversy today of whether people believe the death penalty is moral, and also if it helps to discourage crime (Encyclopedia of Knowledge)."
