1,255 words (approx. 5 pages) | 5 sources | MLA | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper argues that capital punishment benefits American society by ensuring maximum safety for citizens from dangerous people, as well as by providing needed retribution and justice to victims and their families. It discusses how capital punishment is supported by the majority of people, including the mass of world governments and citizens, and is practiced by the bulk of nations as well as permitted by international law.

From the Paper:

"Capital Punishment ensures maximum safety for our citizens, provides an economical way of disposing of society's garbage, and offers the only true form of retribution for victims and their families. Moreover, capital punishment, interchangeable with the death penalty, is permitted by international law, allowed by thirty-eight states of the union, and practiced by the majority of world countries including the entire continents of Asia, Africa and the regions of the Middle East, the Caribbean and most of North and Central America. Furthermore, the only nations and regions not participating in the crucial tradition of capital punishment include: Europe, the majority of Latin America, Canada and a few less notable countries. "
