"Wuthering Heights"

"Wuthering Heights"
A look at the theme of forgiveness and peace in death in Emily Bronte's work, "Wuthering Heights".
650 words (approx. 2.6 pages) | 1 source | 2002 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper is an exploration of the observation by Lockwood that in Emily Bronte's, Wuthering Heights, the dead lie in peace. It takes the position that, in ordinary cases, the dead who return as ghosts in Gothic literature are disturbed and unforgiven souls. Yet, in the case of Heathcliff and Catherine, their love has allowed them to be both unforgiven and happy together on Earth.
