This paper compares and contrasts the impact of religions on India and China. The paper identifies social and economic issues, family values, and political issues. When these issues are traced across India and China to demonstrate the different influences of religion on the two cultures, the negatives and positives are displayed. This ultimately gives better insight as to what culture will survive and prevail in the future.

"Hinduism plays a precise role in determining the social issues of India. A specific example of this is observed in caste. Because of the caste system, many people are discriminated against. Thus, social mobility and productivity are restricted. However, Indians do not want a casteless society. Even the ones that fight against discrimination embrace the caste system because of the security it provides (Caste). Hinduism can take some blame for this because of the idea of reincarnation. People are striving to do their dharma and therefore Indians are only functioning within their caste. Higher castes are taught that lower castes are not to be treated equally. Since everyone wants to be enlightened and achieve moksha, people are not questioning the unfair brutality that is brought against lower castes such as dalits."
