The Chosen, by Chaim Potok is one of these books. Although the title is never directly referred to throughout the course of the novel, there are several possible reasons for the choice of the title. The novel's title can be meant in terms of the Jews, Reb Saunders, Danny Saunders, or Reuven Malter."
