"Hildegard E. Peplau (1909-1999) was a highly influential psychiatric nurse working between the 1930s and the 1970s, primarily in the United States. Peplau received several specialized nursing degrees, including a Bachelor's degree in interpersonal psychology from Bennington College (1943) and a Master's degree in psychiatric nursing from Teachers College, Columbia University (1947).
