1,150 words (approx. 4.6 pages) | 2 sources | 2002 United States

Paper Summary:

Both "Antigone" and "The Awakening" approach the concept of femininity in literature from different angles but are strikingly on the same accessible subject matter. Though written millennia apart, it is unavoidable in any analysis to see that each work is an assertion of the female power upon a given situation in life. It is the purpose of this paper to examine how each functions within their relative stories in this manner and how each moves forward throughout the story.
