Friedan's views, which have since become a key element in directing modern feminist theory, were revolutionary at the time and helped promote a better understanding of the then- current roles that women were required to play in society. This paper shall explore "The Feminine Mystique" and address Friedan's views concerning women, as well as provide a personal response to this book.
