"The tone and mood of the song are gloomy and almost dreadful because the speaker never moves away from the idea that this song signifies an end for him. Here we feel that the song is more about a breakup of some kind. The songwriter says that there will be no surprises in the end, and 'I'll never look into your eyes again' (8).
