The Creation

The Creation
A look at the argument for naturalistic evolutionism versus biblical creationism.
1,066 words (approx. 4.3 pages) | 4 sources | MLA | 2005 United States

Paper Summary:

The debatable question over the creation of life has long been disputed by people for many years. This paper pits Charles Darwin's theory of evolution against the book of "Genesis" in the Holy Bible. It attempts to show that although an on-going battle has been established, pinning these two theories against each other, the dichotomy is actually false and that Christians do not need to give up their faith and scientists don't have to start believing in God. These two clashing but persuasive theories, creation and evolution, can be reconciled because even though they are "so different", they tell the same story.

From the Paper:

"In the Biblical account of creation, found in Genesis chapters one and two, God created the heavens and the earth. Then the earth was waste, void and darkness. God fixed it up and populated it in six days with his spoken commands. He first called on light and darkness, which he named Night and Day. Then, he divided different levels of water on top of each other, one of which he called Heaven. He made dry land appear, which he called Earth, and the waters he called seas. He told the earth to make grass, seed bearing plants, fruit bearing trees and these plants sprung forth. "
