900 words (approx. 3.6 pages) | 2 sources | 2002 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper will discuss the two poems "The Collar" by George Herbert and "The Canonization" by John Donne. The religious symbols will be revealed by their structural analysis within the poems text. By discovering the usage of these symbols we may find the ideas that inspired the poems and the artist who made them. A comparison for restraint shall been argued for in both poems as a method of defining symbolism.
