The Bible
Looks at leadership as exemplified in the Bible.
2,475 words (approx. 9.9 pages) | 0 sources | 2009 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper uses examples from the Bible to explain that leadership is first and foremost about creation, about building up and not about destroying. Authority doesn't come from titles, training, experience or background, the author stresses, but rather from obedience to the truth and genuine love for others. The paper observes that the world's view of leadership has not changed much since Jesus' day.

From the Paper:

"Throughout the Bible there are valuable lessons on the importance of integrity in leaders. Samuel's leadership is legendary because he held himself accountable to his people. Those are important words for a leader, "held himself accountable." He opened himself up to scrutiny. People want to know that just because the going gets tough, it doesn't mean their leaders will abandon their promises and commitments."
