Team Dynamics
An analysis of the dynamics of a university learning team.
3,636 words (approx. 14.5 pages) | 9 sources | MLA | 2004

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses the development of a team and the team interaction within a University of Phoenix learning team. Specifically, the paper analyzes Team C's group development, its internal strategies, the roles each of its individuals fulfilled, team member personalities and inherent relationships, and also conflict management processes.

From the Paper:

"Our team is a group of people who has interacted and influenced each other through virtual communication in order to accomplish team work assigned by their professor. Goodbody (2005)sheds some light on virtual team success, discussing critical success factors for virtual teams; she states that, "[f]or multinational companies, virtual teams operating across boundaries of time and geography are necessities of everyday working life. However, research suggests that typical success rates run at less than 30 percent" (p. 18). Fortunately for Team C, our ambitious spirit is an asset upon which we depend to outperform the 70% majority. In the pursuit of team success, most groups grow through different stages before becoming a dynamic team. Nearly every team, whether forged from two or twenty individuals, must go through the forming, storming, norming, performing, and finally adjourning phases of team development (Tuckman and Jensen, cited in McShane & Von Glinow, 2002, p. 236-238)."
