"There is a serious debate among the populace about stem cell research. Some argue that the research simply is not necessary and that enough research may be done with the use of other types of material. There is no need to use stem cells from a fetus. Others explain that with the use of stem cells, it seems as if the medical community is approaching cures for diseases that were once thought incurable. Whether or not stem cells are an answer and offer hope for millions with presently incurable diseases is a controversial point. The fact that there is a possibility of a cure is important. In other words, even if the research fails, there is no valid reason not to try."
