This paper discusses and analyzes the Seven Principles of Good Practice program conducted and implemented by Winona State University. This program was implemented in three phases to introduce the usage of laptop computers by students and faculty alike. The paper shows that the SPGP is also representative of WSU's mission to advance learning and knowledge through teaching, research, and scholarship, both nationally and internationally. The primary goal of this program is to analyze innovative strategies that embrace technology.

"There is little doubt that information technology in the 21^st century has created a smaller world by overcoming boundaries of time and space and by bringing people closer together on a virtual level. With technological advancement and globalization has come exponential growth in the use of technology in teaching and learning tools. Schools use telecommunications systems to increase their institution's accessibility to the public by offering courses and programs online. This type of non-traditional education has revolutionized teaching and learning through multimedia programs that enable educators to conduct virtual "face-to-face" lectures. Educational institutions have much to gain from implementing these types of advanced technological capabilities."
