Prejudiced?

Prejudiced?
This paper discusses Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" in contrast to Canadian society.
675 words (approx. 2.7 pages) | 3 sources | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

The paper states that the word "prejudice" is frequently heard in our modern society. But what does it really mean? Von der Haar quotes Gordon Allport on this, with this simple definition: "Thinking ill of others without sufficient warrant." Of course, we can also trace it to its linguistic derivation - to judge before, i.e. to judge without experience or knowledge. The paper demonstrates how when we read "Brave New World," we might feel pretty certain that our Canadian society is far superior to the one depicted by Huxley.
