"The first three parts of the book are devoted entirely to her falling grace and the deep and all consuming passion that can occur between lovers. Many times the very act of staying hidden and having to sneak around to meet creates the excitement that the affair might otherwise not have offered. This seems to be the case at least partially in the case of these two lovers. The letters in the first part of the book give the reader a blueprint of how they reunited, and who made the first move.
