718 words (approx. 2.9 pages) | 1 source | MLA | 2010 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper addresses the need for better multicultural communication on the Internet as a means of improving the developing global market. The paper asserts that companies must develop content that carries appeal across multiple cultures. This essay discusses the challenges that arise in doing so and how the communication department of any company, bears most of the burden in doing so. This paper also discusses the history of the US' past tendencies to de-prioritize multicultural communication.

From the Paper:

"In addition to all the measures designed to achieve the outcome of cultural communication for international organizations, hiring people who are familiar with specific audiences they are trying to reach is the most logical form of staffing. Thus, a diverse staff is an essential for globalization, as it raises the range of cultural communication and exposure to bolster the research efforts required for successful multicultural communications. In other words, the more cultures and countries that are represented in the organization's staff, the more resources the organization will have for interior communication and feedback contributing to the most effective translation and intercultural communication thereof, which takes place most significantly and visibly on company websites via a medium that will have one billion viewers by the end of the year."
