Paper Summary:

This paper looks at how Nissan plans to combine resources in a strategic alliance with Renault in order to enhance Nissan's competitiveness. The paper explains that, in the structuring of the Nissan-Renault strategic alliance, Nissan has to build a structure, which will incorporate core competencies from both companies. To do this, the author suggests that Nissan must build a matrix organizational structure. The paper also investigates the re-engineering required for the incorporation of IT governance into the matrix organizational structure.

From the Paper:

"The COBIT framework provides for internal audit and corrective action by aligning IT governance to business objectives. According to the process, the management has to start implementing the framework by identifying the information requirements of the organization. Once the information has been identified, the next stage of planning and organizations starts. In this stage, the management defines what the IT strategy is to be and then determines the architecture of platforms to be followed in implementing that strategy."

I have an MBA from National University of Singapore and a BBA from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. In MBA, my major was in operations management. However I covered a wide variety of subjects in marketing, finance and accounting. My paper on the analysis of financial statements was published. I enrolled in National University of Singapore because I was offered a full scholarship from the Asian Development Bank, one of eight such awards given every year. As part of an exchange program, I also spent one quarter in University of Washington, Seattle. There I covered four subjects in marketing, statistics, operations and IT. I have also worked in a variety of professional roles that allowed to me apply my academic learnings to real life.
