Paper Summary:
This paper discusses three different questions that are connected with Jesus and the Gospel Traditions: #1) What is the Kingdom of God? #2) What is the relationship of the Kingdom of God to the poor? #3) What is the "law of love" and how is it related to the Kingdom of God? The paper discusses insights to these questions with reference to various texts.
From the Paper:
"In the above prophecies the future kingdom of God will be brought about by the figure of a "son of man" who will make his people share in the blessings of the coming Kingdom of God who will his people share in the blessings of the coming kingdom of God. So, in summary, in the Old Testament the expression "Kingdom of God" does not yet occur with the same conceptual meaning as in the New Testament. The concept of divine kingship over the whole world, for the good of his people (God's), and the overthrow of any power that opposes his rule, has been a central motive of Israel's expectation of salvation."
