"A 1993 article in Business Week on the North American Free Trade Agreement recounts the alarmist views of NAFTA critics who were marshalling political opposition to the trade agreement before its eventual approval and ratification. Certainly left-of-center political organizer Jesse Jackson and right-wing media critic Patrick J. Buchanan are seldom in agreement. Both were worried, however, about the effects of the trade agreement's passage on the American worker. As political analyst Kevin P. Phillips put it, "This is the populist taking on the elitist. . .
