↶ Look Inside

Paper Summary:

The paper examines the cultural, political and economical implications
of media globalization. The paper discusses the potential winners in this media globalization process that could be those emancipated in countries still subjected to an authoritarian rule as well as those brought closer together through access to news and information. The paper then discusses the losers who would be those authoritarian rulers who prefer to keep their populations away from the information and the global world.

From the Paper:

"Along with the globalization and liberalization trends that followed the economic and commercial flows and that included products, services or people, media globalization went along with the expansion of the perspective from national or, at most, regional, to an international and global one. This included everything from accessibility to the capacity to communicate information almost anywhere in the world and to increased leverage power, exactly because of the wide outreach that a global media involves."
