A review of the theme of love in the stories of Nicholas Sparks.
1,141 words (approx. 4.6 pages) | 5 sources | MLA | 2009 United States

Paper Summary:

The paper examines the various works of Nicholas Sparks, who uses the relationship of love as the main theme of his stories. The paper discusses how love is an integral part of the human life and so it is often the theme in popular contemporary fiction.

From the Paper:

"Much of contemporary fiction uses the relationship of love as the main theme of the story. This is interesting to us because as humans most of our life revolves around love relationships. As a child we are loved by a parent and extended family, as we grow we develop loving relationships with others, siblings, friends and ultimately a mate. Often we will also have children of our own and learn to love them. In old age we expect that those we have loved will continue to love and care for us.
"The exploration of these loving relationships helps us affirm and express our feelings for others. Because human relationships (especially male/female relationships) are also fallible they can provide satisfying entertainment and room for introspection."
