When we take the tales as a whole we are treated to a delightful detailing of the way people acted and felt and reacted during the 1300's. It is an enlightening overview of the era. However, if we want more than an overview, if we want to examine one aspect of history we can do so by separating the ales into individual stories and examining each one on its own merit."
