"Thomas King is a Native American writer. His short story "One Good Story, That One" shows just how important oral tradition is for Native people. Oral tradition was the only type of history those people had. The oral tradition is based on myths. The narrator is very important to the story. Alistair MacLeod in his novel "No Great Mischief" is Scottish, and he is very much concerned with his family history. That history is also made up of great myths, and oral tradition plays an important role all through the novel."
