The three works analyzed are "The Evolution of the Gilgamesh Epic", by Jeffrey H. Tigay, "A "Telling" of the Ancient Indian Epic" by Larry Tominberg and stories from Genesis. The paper shows how all these works use the same imagery but in different ways.From the Paper:
"Throughout the history of man people have associated words that refer to 'light' with goodness, calmness and general peace while words that refer to 'darkness' are compared with evil, chaos and general havoc and tragedy. This can be seen in life and within the literary texts that we read.
