"Toni Morrison, born Chloe Anthony Wofford, is a native of Lorain, Ohio. Her father and mother grew up in the South. Morrison was an introverted child who enjoyed reading. She read European literature as a little girl. She was only the second person in her family to go to college and attended Howard University. She later went to Cornell University for her master's degree. Toni had two sons and began editing books for Random House. She began her first book The Bluest Eye while part of a literary group The book was published in 1970."
