2,960 words (approx. 11.8 pages) | 6 sources | MLA | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

When one compares the Victorian novels, "Jane Eyre" and "Wuthering Heights", one can almost call the books "sister novels," just like the authors, Charlotte and Emily Bronte, who were sisters. This paper examines how, in some ways the books' features are quite the same, but, in other respects, they are extremely different.

From the Paper:

"Her sister used this same technique, but to a greater extent, as Emily was the family poet. The writer paints vivid pictures with words about the wildness of the Heights with its wind-swept gullies, heather, and moors where Heathcliff was king. She also correctly depicts the luxury of Thrushcross Grange, where the Lintons lived. The part of England where Wuthering Heights was said to be is also where the Bronte sisters grew up. It is a rough country area, susceptible to storms and an excellent setting for the tempestuous characters of Wuthering Heights."
