From the Paper:
"American television shows provide a daily dose of electronic storytelling to viewers, and hence serve as one of the most pervasive cultural text that students of contemporary studies can turn to for analysis. Themes of good and evil, right and wrong, in and out, modern and antiquated (i.e., hip and not-hip), prevail as storytellers (i.e., producers, writers, and actors) use various genres to make analogies, draw lines, and tell stories about people, places, situations, and what is socially acceptable behavior."
