675 words (approx. 2.7 pages) | 2 sources | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

The paper discusses an interview conducted by the writer with 30 registered nurses at Mount Sinai, concerning their experiences working with patients in the context of patient and family centered care. Most of the nurses were very enthusiastic about the transition to family centered care. However, a number of nurses were resistant to change because they were not certain about the outcomes. Persistence also was caused by obstacles that interfered with implementing family centered care. The writer notes, however, that this resistance was overcome.
