"This paper will be concerned with the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare. Specifically, it will consider Hamlet's inability to move forward with his revenge after learning that his father was killed by his uncle. At the beginning of the play, Hamlet's father, the King, has died, and his uncle Claudius has become the new King. In addition, Claudius has married Hamlet's mother, Gertrude. At the end of Act I, Hamlet has an encounter with the ghost of his father. In this encounter, Hamlet is told that his evil uncle is responsible for his father's death. At the ghost's urging, Hamlet reluctantly agrees to seek his father's revenge. However, by the end of Act II, it is evident that Hamlet has decided to test the validity of the ghost first before proceeding with his plans for vengeance. Throughout the second act, Hamlet acts as if he has gone insane. Careful analysis of this act..."
