The paper examines prostitution in Canada - specifically, the moral sensibilities which have always under-girded Canadian anti-prostitution laws and the consequences these attitudes have had for the laws and sanctions put in place to discourage the practice. Of especial importance, the paper will delve into the patriarchal and Judeo-Christian foundations of Canada's prostitution laws and what this has ultimately meant for women who find themselves ensnarled in the sex trade industry.
